Also talking about awards, The 52nd Grammy Awards are taking place on January 31 live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center @ 8pm EST. Taylor will be performing as well as many other great artist at the award show. Taylor is nominated for 8 awards, Make sure to tune in and check your local listings for channel and time zone.

TAYLOR ANNOUNCED AS THE TOP-SELLING DIGITAL ARTIST IN HISTORY

With over 24.3 million digital tracks sold to date, Taylor Swift is the top-selling digital artist in music history, according to sales figures released yesterday by Nielsen SoundScan. In addition, her FEARLESS album was 2009’s top-seller, with sales last year in excess of 3.2 million copies, and Taylor claimed both the #1 and #2 positions atop Nielsen’s BDS Top 10 Most Played Songs chart (all genres), with “You Belong With Me” and “Love Story,” respectively. She also topped the all format 2009 Top 10 Artist Airplay chart with over 1.29 million song detections, and the Top 10 Artist Internet Streams chart with more than 46 million song plays.

FEARLESS was also the top-selling album of 2008, and Taylor is the youngest solo artist ever to top the year-end sales chart. FEARLESS, now quintuple-platinum, also topped Billboard’s 2009 all-genre Top 200 Albums chart and was named Country Album of the Year by the editors of iTunes. Taylor’s self-titled debut album, released in 2006, currently holds the record for Billboard’s longest charting album this century, and she is tied with the Beatles and Mariah Carey for Billboard’s Most Top 20 Debuts.

Taylor finished 2009 not only with the best-selling album, she was named Billboard’s Artist of the Year, as well as Entertainer of the Year by the Associated Press. She topped People magazine’s Most Intriguing People of 2009 list, was named a Person Who Mattered by the editors of Time magazine, a Person of the Year by NBC, and was featured as one of Rolling Stone’s 100 People Changing America. People named her one of 2009’s 10 Best Dressed Celebrities and also one of the year’s Most Beautiful People.

Thank you January.

Thank you January. I have had this month off. I have walked on snow-covered grass and discovered new coffee shops and laughed hysterically with friends about things that probably weren’t technically funny. I’ve written songs on napkins and sat at a giant table with my whole family on my mother’s birthday, all of us in one place for the first time in too long. I’ve gotten to take what has happened to me and process it to my full capability, and celebrate it the way it deserved to be celebrated. I’ve made new music. I’ve gone over the memories and jumped up and down with my producer and floated around with nothing on my schedule other than just appreciating what my life has somehow turned into. So thank you for giving me so much to be thankful for this January. Thank you beyond what I know how to say.

Talking about awards, the other night was the BMI awards which Taylor won “Song of the Year”.

Breaking news, as you know Taylor’s Fearless Platinum Edition was to come out Tuesday October 27th. The Breaking news is that it has been pushed ahead and will now be released on Monday October 26th. So make sure to pick up your copy.

In other news Taylor has been nominated for a number of awards lately,

Taylor is nominated for three 2010 People Choice Awards, which include Favorite Country Artist, Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Pop Artist.

She is also nominated for a 2009 Billboard Touring Award for the Breakthrough award. The award will be held in New York on November 5th.

Finally, Taylor is nominated for six (6) 2009 American Music Awards (AMAs). She is nominated for Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist – Country, Favorite Album – Country, Favorite Female Artist – Pop, Favorite Album – Pop, Adult Contemporary Music.

Also a few days ago on October 18th Taylor was honored at the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Ceremony, which she picked up two awards, one for Songwriter of the Year and another for Artist of the Year. Congratulations Taylor

Taylor is auctioning off a custom Zambi Baby Elephant (signed) to raise funds for Family Health International, who provides basic needs such as healthcare, food, water and clothing for  children orphaned by AIDS. Check out the auction on Ebay.

You Belong With Me

Last night was the MTV VMAs and Taylor won her first Moon Man Award. During her acceptance speech Kanye West came up and ruined the whole thing. Later in the night Beyonce won Video of The Year and let Taylor come up to the stage to finish the rest of her acceptance speech for the Moon Man Award. Taylor’s performance of “You Belong With Me” Live on MTV VMA 2009

Today Big Machine Records released the CD cover  to the “Fearless” Platinum Edition. Also  CountryMusicIsLove.com came out with the track list of the CD and the DVD content. The Platinum Edition of “Fearless” will be released on October 27th.

The 2009 CMA awards have been announced, Taylor is up for 4 Nominations, (Album of the Year for Fearless), (Music Video of the Year for Love Story), (Female Vocalist of the Year) and (Entertainer of the Year). The CMA Awards will air November 11th of ABC.

Also, I guess the biggest news is that Taylor has sold more then 10 Million albums in the last few years, of both her self titled debut CD and Taylor’s latest “Fearless”.
